Quad Biking
Experience the thrill of riding a quad bike along the sand dunes and beachfronts of Ahipara. Our quad bikes are available for freedom hire to anyone with a valid driver’s licence from any country. Each bike is fully automatic, COF licensed, and comes with helmets, instructions, and a practice ride to ensure safety and confidence.
Quad biking is also ideal for corporate team building or group adventures, offering fun and excitement in a unique coastal setting.

Blokarting
Blokarts are fun micro land yachts suitable for ages 8 to 80. Lessons are provided for beginners, and rentals are available daily from half tide to low tide, depending on wind conditions and experience level. Helmets are provided to ensure safety.
Rates:
- 1 hour: NZ$80
- 2 hours: NZ$140
Bonds can be pre-authorised on a credit card, EFTPOS, or paid in cash. Blokarting is perfect for families, groups, or anyone looking for an exhilarating and unusual adventure on the beach.
Dune Surfing & Beach Gear
For a more relaxed pace or solo exploration, Ahipara Adventure Centre offers a variety of beach and water equipment:
- Kayaks: NZ$30 for 2 hours or NZ$40 for half day
- Longboards: Bond $250; NZ$25 for 2 hours, NZ$40 for half day, NZ$70 full day
- Sand Toboggans: Bond $20; NZ$15 for half day
- Bodyboards & Fins: Bond $50; NZ$20 half day, NZ$35 full day
- SUP Boards: 2 hours NZ$35, half day NZ$50
These options allow visitors to enjoy paddling, surfing, or sliding down dunes at their own pace, making it a perfect activity for families, couples, or solo travelers. Flippers are available for an additional small fee, and wetsuits can also be rented to keep you comfortable in the water.
Surfboards, Wetsuits & Fishing
Ahipara is renowned for its surf, especially at Shipwreck Bay and Reef Point, and we offer a wide selection of surfboards for hire, including standard boards and longboards. Wetsuits are available for $5 with board hire or $10 separately.
